Welcome to Singing Flame’s very first newsletter! Here’s a preview of what we’re about to release, what we’re currently working on, and what we’re planning for the future! You’re in for some treats, so read on… If you haven’t already subscribed, then hit the button below!

We are pleased to announce that our weird-fantasy setting Night Land is complete, and will be released within the next few weeks. Night Land is a realm where the sun has extinguished, and its ashes lay strewn across a landscape. One after one, the stars in the universe are entering their final stages of life, and existence is fading into memory. Artist Andrew Walter (Troika, Fronds of Benevolence, Slipgate Chokepoint) has completed 14 extraordinary pieces for the publication, many in full-color. Artist Benjamin Marra has created the map. Night Land is presented as a point-crawl, and can be easily dropped into nearly any fantasy world as part of your campaign. It is fully compatible will Old-School Essentials, and will also work with any original fantasy, B/X or similar OSR ruleset. A sneak preview of some pages are below. We will send another announcement when Night Land is available for purchase! You will be able to buy print copies direct from our website and Exalted Funeral. Work is underway on issue #3 of Aquilus. This issue looks further into the strangely exotic world of Aquilus, offering numerous flavor elements and random tables. We delve into concepts inspired by science-fantasy, sword & planet, bronze age, far future, and post-apocalyptic genres, all infused with a hallucinogenic fantasy overtone. You may have also noticed we’ve redesigned the cover logo and included ‘Weird-Fantasy’ to the tagline, which we hope adds further ambiance to what we're trying to capture with this publication. We have tons of ideas for future issues of Aquilus, and are considering inviting work by contributors who are inspired by the weirder aspects of fantasy. Stay tuned! Issue # 3 will include: Two new character classes, the Starchild and Florian. A mini point-crawl, but based on a historical engraving of a surreal scene on a riverbank, populated by a bacchanalian cult of grotesque entities. New gods & deities which exist within the immaterial realms of symphonic music, and who worships them. A table for generating colossal megastructures. Rare and dying languages spoken in Aquilus. A table for generating engineered viruses and plagues, which are created to perform some very unusual tasks (not what you think!). Commercial tourism and leisure activities within the various astral and hyper-dimensional planes. A table for generating fantastic localities and the entities that populate them. New monsters. And much more!

Our bestselling adventure Xanadu for Old-School Essentials is being converted to Dungeon Crawl Classics! A cult in the temple of Xanadu has opened a portal to another dimension. It was activated by adjusting the hands of three pendulum clocks in a particular sequence. Once the veil of reality was ruptured between this world and another, The Tooth Fairy stepped through, a winged creature from a dimension made of sweet stuff. The Tooth Fairy slaughtered everyone in the temple for their teeth, which she extracted and ate like candy. Rumors are circulating about unusual happening involving the temple, many are concerned. The Tooth Fairy is currently in her dimension, her appetite is ravenous, waiting to be summoned again. Rewards and riches may await those who venture forth to explore the temple, or dare to perform the ritual! The DCC conversion is being undertaken by Julian Bernick, who is co-host of the DCC Spellburn podcast and has many writing credits to his name for Goodman Games, including the awesome adventure Hive of the Overmind for Mutant Crawl Classics. Julian is also one of the authors of an adventure for the upcoming DCC Dying Earth setting, which is going to be phenomenal! We are currently working on a supplement called Matrix of Power, which will offer numerous random tables to generate superhero abilities for adventurers in fantasy RPGs. Influenced by superhero RPGs of the 1980s including Champions, Villains & Vigilantes, and Marvel Super-Heroes by TSR, this book will add a fun, flavorful cross-genre component to your games. Comic book legend Ken Landgraf has already made some of the artwork for the book (one of his works is illustrated above), and we are totally blown away! Landgraf has worked for Marvel and DC, but is revered in comic circles as a pioneer in independent publishing in the 1970s and 1980s, with his titles New York City Outlaws and Starfighters. We are huge, huge Landgraf fans, and also love collaborating with artists who come from outside the traditional RPG field. We can’t wait to show you more soon! Matrix of Power will be the first volume released in what’s planned to be an entire series of supplements to add cross-genre elements to your games. Stay tuned! Finally, another adventure in development is Star Maze (that’s the working title for now!), which will be compatible with Old-School Essentials. This will be a dungeon in space and merges several genres, including classic fantasy, sci-fi, and space-horror. We don’t want to share too much just yet, but here’s a preview of a small section of the fantastic map for Star Maze which has been designed by Andrew Walter. Star Maze coming late 2021.
