FAQ

General

What do you publish?
We make fine books to be used with tabletop roleplaying games.

What do you publish your own rules for games?
No. We mostly make material for old-school infliuenced games, such as those inspired by the original fantasy RPG from the 1970s. Our favorite modern restatement of early edition rules is Old-School Essentials.

What games can I use your books with?
Our books can easily be used with most contemporary rules-lite games, requiring very little conversion. Generally, our books are designed to be mined for flavor and inspiration for use with any tabletop roleplaying game, old and new.

Do you sell or stock books on your website by other publishers?
No. Everything we sell on our website is something we’ve made. But if collaborate with another publisher on a project, then we’d obviously make that publication available on our site.

Do you ship internationally?
Yep. We have an entire page with information about how we ship our books. Just click here.

Distribution

I am a retailer or ditro in the US, overseas, or fully online. How can I order your books?
Wow! That would be amazing. Please send us a message and we’ll work something out.

Submissions

Will Singing Flame publish my written RPG material?
Maybe. But we prefer approaching creators based on works of theirs we come across, either online or in print. We keep up with what’s happening in our field and are always keen to learn more about some writers and artists. But if we haven’t approached you, please do not pitch us ideas for narratives, settings, characters, items, or other kinds of content. We don’t want to sound mean, but unless we've specifically asked you to present ideas in these areas, we don't want to end up in a situation where you submit ideas to us that we're already working on, or have planned for the future. Note that for legal reasons to do with intellectual property, we will automatically discard any pitches for written content. Let us approach you first.

Will you look at my art portfolio?
Sure! If you want to show us something, only send a link to your website or Instagram account. But for reasons stated above, do not send images based on narratives, settings, characters, items, or other kinds of content that we’ve written or announced as forthcoming, unless we've specifically asked you to present ideas in these areas. Also, don’t attach image files to an email, as it’s unlikely we’ll look at it in that form. A simple link to an external site is best. Just send us a message.
